    This soon to open corporate office has a completely new avatar ,poles apart from its earlier version. Blending the traditional Nepalese architecture with the state of the art materials and technology, a perfect banking environment has been created. Glass-blocks at the backdrop of teller counters allow play of light and shades to enhance the fluidity in the communication across clients and officers as well as between the workers themselves. The plan is a ripple with an elliptical counter which offsets into hierarchy of managerial works.

    With total project cost of NRs. 30,969,200.83, Blending traditional Nepalese architecture with the state of the art materials and technology, a perfect banking environment of 2, 2150 sq.ft. has been created. The design has been found to increase the working efficiency and enhance the fluidity of communication between the clients and the staffs as well as between the staffs themselves. Efficient use of "Open Furniture Layout Plan" has helped to economize 16,000.00 sq. ft. of office space in comparison to previous office layout. Using Cable tray for laying communication and computer networking cables, flexibility in the layout of work stations has been achieved.

  2. Project Name : Engineering Design and Construction of Office Spaces for United Nations Mission In Nepal (UNMIN) in Birendra International Convention Centre (BICC), (Turn-Key Project)

    It was also a time of essence turnkey project. It was a joint venture project with M/s Sharma and Company Pvt. Ltd. The J/V team is proud to announce that it had successfully completed such a refurbishment mega project worthing NRs 29.95 in record time of 7 weeks. There were two types of assignments in the Project : one was to refurbish five halls inside the main building of the Birendra International Convention Center (BICC) to accommodate various offices of UNMIN and another was to renovate and refurbish the Appellate Court Building. Challenging task of the Project was that the J/V had to carry out all construction works without nailing or drilling on wall and floor. The Consultant had developed own indigenous method to fulfill the challenging task. The Project work comprised various civil renovation works, partition works, flooring works, false ceiling works, electrical works, computer networking works, telephone system, fire alarm and fire fighting system, public addressing system and HVAC system.

    Functional and efficient working space has been obtained from limited space. The use of wooden texture shows an aesthetic and corporate environment to the banking area. Arch shaped table at reception area enhances the beauty as well as functional working space. Teller counter was design to be comfortable to the staff as well as to customers. A special oval projection was designed to place bags and briefcase of customers.

    The theme of design is modern design with wooden texture exposure.

    Simple and functional design approach was adopted with due consideration on reusing existing furniture. A great deal of attention was paid to achieve maintenance free design. Efficient use of “Open Furniture Layout Plan” is achieved by maximum use of available space. Deep penetration of day light is achieved by using artistic glass window partitions and properly allocating low height partition office area.

    Since the office room belongs to the chairman of the airlines of our national flag carrier , the design theme is based on traditional Nepalese style. A great deal of effort was paid to give traditional Nepalese out look with minimum carving works.

    Adopting a modern but a low cost approach for the interior design of the UN Office, an efficient and functional working space has been achieved. Cost per square feet of the Project was NRs. 1,200.00, which includes cost of HVAC system, electrical system, furnitures, false ceiling, flooring and all civil works. In order to cut cost the furniture layout had been designed such that the furniture itself acts as partitions. It was designed by using locally available materials. One of the main design features is Suspended Cable Ladder used for laying cables of computer network system; telephone system and electrical power supply system. The beauty of the Cable Ladder System is that it allows flexibility in rearrangement of furniture layout.

  7. Project Name : Design of Project Office of OPRSG/UNMIN

    It was a time of essence project. The entire design and construction works was completed within 6 weeks. An efficient and functional working space is designed. The design is based on modern but low cost construction approach. The furniture are designed considering the type of filing system and amount of files required for the staffs. Maximum use of local construction material and re-use of existing material were considered during the design phase.

  8. Project Name : Interior Refurbishment of Office of Regional Center for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific (RCPD)

    A functional and low cost design approach was adopted for the interior design of the RCPD Office. Locally available materials were used in the Project. Maximum use of natural daylight is achieved by efficient furniture layout and adopting light coloured furnitures and painting. Locally fabricated Cable Ladder used for computer network system, telephone system and electrical cabling allows flexibility in furniture layout in future and also provides an aesthetic and corporate environment to the office. Here, the layout has been so designed that the furniture itself acts as partitions.

  9. Project Name : Interior Refurbishment of UNDP Office, Main Building, East Wing Location : UN House, Pulchowk, Lalitpur

    A functional and low cost design approach was adopted for the interior design of the UNDP Programme Office. Locally available materials were used in the Project. Maximum use of natural daylight is achieved by efficient furniture layout and adopting light coloured furnitures and painting. Locally fabricated Cable Ladder used for computer network system, telephone system and electrical cabling allows flexibility in furniture layout in future and also provides an aesthetic and corporate environment to the office.

    Simple and functional design approach was adopted as building itself was of modern design. Efficient use of "Open Furniture Layout Plan" is achieved by maximum use of space. Good cross ventilation and deep penetration of day light is achieved by using small regular geometrical cut-out in internal partition walls and use of glass blocks in it. Oval shape of the partition and teller counter creates pleasant view at banking hall.

    The theme of design is neo-classical. Wide and spacious design approach was adopted in three executive rooms as per requirement of the client. The "Open Furniture Layout Plan" was adopted in other common office area and account section. Meeting hall is designed to have good acoustic properties.

    Grandioseness and maintenance free are the major design criteria of the client besides the earthquake resistance and energy efficiency of the building. The staircase with huge openings towards the south is deigned to act as a thermal mass. The central HVAC system is located beneath the pyramid shaped roof at top. All the windows are double-glazed in order to reduce heat loss and noise.

    Design Theme of the Project is neo-classical design. The client wanted to have massive wood work without carving. This is the first residential building in Kathmandu having central heating and cooling. Accordingly, the interior design was carried out considering energy efficiency. Only the stairwell and foyer was laid by Italian marble with inlayed border. Rest of the flooring is bamboo parquet, except bathrooms and kitchen. All the detailed designs of the Project were unique starting from molding and border at floor to wall panels, furniture, ceiling and curtain box. In order to keep in tandem to the exterior design, the pyramid pattern is used at various elements : embossed pyramid at door frames, curtain box, display unit, furniture, molding at ceiling, balustrade of the staircase and inlayed pyramid pattern is used at floor, doors and wall panels

    The neo-classical design approach was adopted as per the Clients' requirement. At drawing room, dining room and staircase, terracotta floor tiles were used. Simple capitol like design at columns was worked out in mild steel giving wrought iron effect. Cost of ceiling finishing works was reduced by applying POP directly on RCC slab. Irregular pattern was designed to cover beams, which gives impression that all the ceiling area is made of false ceiling.

    Design Theme of the Project modern design. The Client wanted to lay out design of the apartment as per "Vastu Sastra". As per "Vastu Sastra" the layout of the bed should in south-north direction with pillow position at south. But at south, there was a huge window next to head position. It is not good to have huge window next to head poison while sleeping as it effects adversely on health during winter. Therefore the Consultant came out with solution providing solar space adjacent to wall where there was a huge window. The solar space is specially designed to heat the bed room during winter and cool down during summer. Even though the room has air-conditioner fitted, the Client has to use it seldom. All the furnitures were designed in simple geometric pattern playing with two color veneer inlay so that it will be easy to clean. Gap between RCC slab and gypsum board false ceiling is packed with glass wool to achieve heat insulation. Molding at ceiling was specially designed for the Project. Floor is wooden parquet.

    Design Theme of the Project is modern design. The client wanted to have simple and maintenance free design as well as lesser time consumption to maintain the building. Less timber and marble are used in design to cut price yet it looked elegant.

  16. Name of the Project : Interior Design of Residence of Mrs. Juli Mahato
    Location : Bhainsipati, Lalitpur

    Design Theme of the Project is western-classical design. The client wanted to have palace like design. This is the second residential building in Kathmandu having central heating and cooling. Accordingly, the interior design was carried out considering energy efficiency. Only the stairwell and foyer was laid by Italian marble with inlayed border. Rest of the flooring is bamboo parquet, except bathrooms and kitchen. All the detailed designs of the Project were unique starting from molding and border at floor to wall panels, furniture and false ceiling. All the curtain boxes are concealed in the false ceiling.

  17. Name of Project : Interior Refurbishment of Meeting Room of Butwal Power Company

    Modern meeting room designed with state of latest modern technologies like automatic light switch with remote 3 scene selection system, remote controlled projector platform to be concealed into false ceiling, remote controlled projector screen and magnetic white board. The projector screen and white board can be covered by sliding door while not in use. Perforated acoustic false ceiling and wooden wall panels are incorporated in design to obtain teller acoustics of the meeting room.
